Facilities and Equipment
Our clean, spacious clinic was designed with your comfort and care in mind.
To provide the highest standard of eye health care Dr. Vorpahl has added OPTOS to his practice--one of few in the area. OPTOS provides a digital image of the interior of your eye typically without the use of dilation drops which can blur your vision for hours. Dr. Vorpahl is then able to check for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, hypertension, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment--all of which can severely reduce your vision. These images are stored electronically for tracking changes in the retina.
This quick, comfortable procedure is recommended for all Dr. Vorpahls patients, particularly those who want to forgo the discomfort and inconvenience of routine dilation drops!

Dr. Vorpahl also uses other technically advanced equipment--the GDx specifically to monitor changes in the optic nerve and retinal nerve fiber layer essential to diagnosis and management of early glaucoma--a leading cause of blindness. The recent addition of Ocular Coherence Tomography adds another dimension to optic nerve and retinal analysis. The OCT is useful for a host of eye diseases including glaucoma and macular degeneration. He uses computerized vision testing, especially accurate in examining children. A fields analyzer determines blind spots caused by disease, injury, or physiology. A tonomoter tests the pressure within the eye--without the puff of air so many people dislike.

In an effort to utilize the most advanced technology for your vision care management, Family Focus Vision Source is now fully computerized. This system allows us to integrate information throughout all areas of the office for accuracy and efficiency. Bottom line--better service for our patients!
