Wesley Vorpahl, Optometric Physician

Wesley N. Vorpahl, Optometric Physician After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Oregon State University, Dr. Vorpahl continued his education at Pacific University. There he earned a Bachelor of Science in visual science and Doctor of Optometry.

He has practiced in Salem since 1983.

Dr. Vorpahl is very involved with professional development and has served as a leader in the Willamette Optometric Society and the Oregon Optometric Association. He also belongs to the American Optometric Association. Dr. Vorpahl served on the Oregon Department of Health diabetes guideline advisory panel.

Dr. Vorpahl returned from a 2-week medical mission trip to Hospital de la Familia in Nuevo Progresso, Guatemala in May, 2003. He and the other doctors and nurses of the eye care team provided surgery, medication and eyewear to needy residents of this remote area. It was a rewarding experience for all involved and one that Dr. Vorpahl hopes to repeat!
